Simplifying NDIS Funding
Simplifying NDIS Funding
NDIS Funding can be complicated – funding, updates, tracking payments and keeping track of invoices and can confusing and stressful. What are some ways to simplify?
NDIS Funding is split up into a few categories:
1. Core Supports – Daily assistance, respite care, transport, social and community participation, domestic cleaning, personal care, day programs etc. NDIS provides flexibility – you can use it on whatever area you like. Consumables are also included such as low cost assistive technology – low risk products that can be bought off the shelf.
2. Capacity Building – is centred around therapy – speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists etc. It is dependent on your disability. Capacity Building also includes support coordination and plan management.
3. Capital Supports – has two main topics – home modifications and assistive technology. Home modifications requires a quote process which requires an assessment on the home which is sent to the NDIS to be approved. Assistive technology involves wheelchairs, holsters, ramps. Assistive technology also requires an assessment.
There are certain rules to follow under the NDIS when funding supports and services.
As outlined previously, there are 3 main ways to manage NDIS funding – which each being different advantages and disadvantages. At All Supports, we recommend plan management as the best option to manage NDIS funding. At the end of the day, the correct choice is the one that is most effective for your case – not all disabilities are the same.
